An imperforate hymen occurs as affliction in which a hymen completely obstructs a vagina. This occurs as affliction that must become rectified prior to a girl reaches pubescence: it prevents catamenial fluid from either shake off a system, & the ensuant accumulation of catamenial discharge could induce severe ill health. It would likewise render proper sexual intercourse impossible, & lead to severe trouble whenever it were attempted.
